GHANIAN OLYMPIC ALPINE SKI RACER

Kwame is a professional ski racer and Ghana’s first ever Winter Olympian.
What makes Kwame’s dream and journey to the Vancouver 2010 Games even more incredible is that he starting skiing only five years ago at an indoor ski area. A natural athlete, he quickly took to the sport and in only a few years time had achieved the requisite international points to qualify for the Olympics.
Kwame cuts a unique figure on the international ski circuit. He competes under the "Snow Leopard" moniker, and his leopard print race suit ensures that he always stands out from the crowd. Being a man more accustomed to warmer climates, Kwame is delighted to be part of the Khunu team and experience first-hand the superior thermal properties of yak wool.
Khunu is outfitting Kwame and the Ghana Ski team at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Yak and Leopard. Khunu and Kwame. Often the most interesting possibilities come from unlikely pairings. But mostly, we were just inspired by Kwame’s story of achieving the seemingly impossible and we wanted to help support him. In addition, Kwame will be working with Khunu to help test new products for the coming seasons.
