New developments are usually exciting. Prior to Covid we visited Nepal to assess the feasibiity of manufacturing there. It has a well developed textile industry with skilled workers capable of producing exceptionally well made products at a scale we could work with, something not always available in Mongolia and China. It was also a chance to find a reliable manufacturing home for some of the new fibre sourced through the Good Growth value chain. Large factories are not always bad, but a small independent producer that shares our values is a much better long-term partner for a brand such as Khunu.

This month we're excited to launch our first Nepal-made product. It is an update on our long-standing travel wrap, but hand-woven using hand-spun yarn. It's a first for us, and we're pretty excited about how things worked out.

A few details on the product.......it's a travel wrap, but with added silk to keep weight consistent with previous iterations. Hand-spun yarn is thicker than machine yarn, so would have almost doubled the weight of the existing travel wrap. Silk is also extremely strong, warm and breathable, so your wrap will be good to use much of the year (depending on where you live), and for several years to come.
